Lillian K. McMahon
Lillian K. McMahon, 78, of RR 2, Box 93, Petersburg died at 6:22 PM Saturday, June 21, 2003 at her Logan Township home. Born September 27, 1924, in Petersburg, she was a daughter of the late John II and Bertha (Taylor) Oestreich. She was united in marriage to John Benjamin McMahon on December 21, 1944, at the Lutheran Church parsonage, Petersburg. Mr. McMahon preceded her in death on November 30, 1969. She is survived by three daughters and one son: Mrs. Cloyd (Frances) Thompson; Wesley McMahon and his wife, Pam; and Judy McMahon, all of the Petersburg area; and Mrs. John (Diane) Zajicek, of Deerfield, Ohio. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: John Thompson, Jeff Thompson, Jackie Confer, Angie Peters, Leslie Kitchen, Brian McMahon, and Benjamin Zajicek, and nine great-grandchildren. Three sisters and two brothers survive: Bonnie Eckley, of Clinton, Tenn.; Jewell Dysard, of the Petersburg area; Shirley Lightner, of Kingsport, Tenn.; John Oestreich III, of the Petersburg area; and William Oestreich, also of the Petersburg area. Mrs. McMahon was of the Protestant faith. She attended the Petersburg Vocational High School. After 28 years service as an inspector, she retired from Bonney Forge at the age of 65. Following her retirement, she continued to work as a part-time desk clerk at the Huntingdon County Library for eight years. A lifelong resident of Huntingdon County, she resided at her Logan Township home for the past 55 years. She enjoyed gardening, embroidery, canning, and doing for others. She was a member of the Juniata Valley Senior Citizens organization. Her work in this world of family and friends has been finished. She has moved on to heaven to be with her beloved husband, John. Interment will be made in the Mooresville Cemetery, West Township, Petersburg.
