Mary Joanne "Mary Jo" PRICE:
Mary Joanne "Mary Jo" PRICE, 83, of Porter Twp., Alexandria, R.R. 1, died at 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9, 2002, at the Aurora Medical Center, Aurora, Colo. She had been vacationing in Colorado with her daughter and death was sudden and unexpected. Born Aug. 10, 1918, at Tyrone, she was a daughter of the late Nicholas L. and Myrtle (Stouffer) Minemier. She married Roy E. Price June 24, 1940, in Virginia. Mr. Price preceded her in death Jan. 20, 1993. She is survived by one son, Donald J. Price, Tyrone, and one daughter, Mrs. Rodger (Jo Anne) Miller, Fort Lupton, Colo. there are five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, George S. Minemier and Gilbert Minemier; and a sister, Helen V. Isenberg. Mrs. Price was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was an active member of the Juniata Valley Senior Citizens Inc. She graduated from Tyrone High School, Tyrone. In 1951, she moved from Blair County and had been a resident of the Alexandria area since that time. After 30 years of service she retired, in 1981, from the Juniata Valley School District where she had been a secretary. Mrs. Price enjoyed playing cards and crocheting. She was an avid bird watcher. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14 at the Cutright-Speck Funeral Home, Juniata Valley Chapel, 412 Main St., Alexandria, with president Richard R. Hark officiating. Private interment was made in Alexandria Presbyterian Cemetery, Alexandria.
