Martha H. (Hawn) McCrum:

Martha H. (Hawn) MCCRUM, 66, of Porter Twp., Alexandria R.R.1, died at 11:40 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16, 2002, at her residence. Born Oct. 31, 1935, at Huntingdon, she was a daughter of the late Foster F. and Anna M. (Norris) Hawn. She was united in marriage to William O. McCrum April 10, 1954, at First Methodist Church, Huntingdon. Mr. McCrum survives at home. One daughter and two sons survive: Mrs. Thomas (Cindy) Anders and Timothy Lee McCrum, both of Alexandria; and William Kent McCrum, Tyrone. There are eight grandchildren. One sister, Jean Holland, McConnellstown, also survives. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Drolsbaugh and Ethel Miller. Mrs. McCrum was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Petersburg, where she had served as chairperson for the Lutheran Church Women. She graduated from Huntingdon High School with the Class of 1953. Before her marriage, she had worked for a number of years for Bell Telephone. She later worked for a long number of years a Technitrol, Petersburg, until her retirement in 1992. Mrs. McCrum's main interest was her family. She enjoyed following her children's and grandchildren's many sporting events and other activities. She was an avid camper. A lifetime resident of Huntingdon County, and the Juniata Valley since 1961, she had lived at her Porter Twp. home for the past 22 years. A memorial service was held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, at Zion Lutheran Church, 501 St. Peter St., Petersburg, Pastor Don Costlow officiated. Interment was made in Mooresville Cemetery, Petersburg.
