Jane (McManus) Glenny:
Jane M. Glenny, 73, of RD 1 Box 976, West Township, Petersburg, died Wed., Oct. 24, 2001, at 4:18 a.m. at Centre Community Hospital, State College.
Born Jan. 30, 1928, in Williamsburg, she was a daughter of the late W. Carl and Janet (Mitchell) McManus. She married Robert D. Glenny Sept. 26, 1947, at Manor Hill United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Paul E. Meyers officiating. Mr. Glenny preceded her in death Sept. 8, 1977.
Surviving are four sons: Jon Robert Glenny, Nashville, TN; Jeffrey C. Glenny, Petersburg; Douglas R. Glenny, Huntingdon RD 2; and Steven G. Glenny, Petersburg. There are five grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters: Pauline Champion of Lock Haven and Mrs. Dean (Carol) Isett, Petersburg.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Guy McManus, and a sister, Elizabeth Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Glenny was a member of the Manor Hill United Methodist Church for over 60 years. She had served as trustee, communion steward and Sunday School
superintendent, and was a member of the Do For Others Sunday School Class.A 1946 graduate of the Petersburg Vocational High School, she retired in 2000 from the Huntingdon County Library, after many years of employment.
Mrs. Glenny was a member of the Juniata Valley Senior Citizens Center, Shavers Creek Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary and served as West Township
auditor.
She was an avid fan and supporter of the Juniata Valley football program and was a member of the Juniata Valley Football Mothers. She had also been a Cub Scout den mother. She enjoyed crocheting and was a member of the "Birthday Club."
Mrs. Glenny was a lifetime resident of Huntingdon County and had lived at her West Township home for the past 46 years.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sun., Oct. 28, at the Manor Hill United Methodist Church, Huntingdon, RD 2, with Pastor Joleen Willis officiating. Interment will be made in the Mooresville Cemetery, West Township, Petersburg. Jack Linderman will provide processional bagpipe music at the graveside service.
Friends may call at the Cutright-Speck Funeral Home, Juniata Valley Chapel, from 7 until 9 p.m. Sat., Oct. 27, and from 1 p.m. until the hour of the service Sunday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Manor Hill United Methodist Church, RD 2, Huntingdon, PA 16652; or to the Huntingdon County Library, 330 Penn Street, Huntingdon, PA 16652; or to the Shavers Creek Ambulance Division, RD 1, Petersburg, PA 16669.
