Charles Robert Seager, Sr., 72, of 6811 Barree Road (Logan Township) Alexandria, died at 2:49 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon.
Born Nov. 22, 1931, in Fishertown, he was the son of the late William P. and Gladys Amelia (Brown) Seager. He was united in marriage to Missouri L. Fitzgerald June 4, 1955, at Christ Reformed Church, United Church of Christ, Alexandria.
He is survived by his wife at home; a son, Charles Robert Seager, Jr. of Alexandria; a daughter, Mrs. Ken (Tamara S.) Beck of Alexandria; a grandson, Derek Allison; and three grand-daughters, Paige Allison, Annissa Seager, and Briana Seager.
He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Richard "Dixie" (Shirley) Myers, and Mrs. Donald (Ann) Hicks, both of Huntingdon; and three brothers, Donald Max Seager and T. Stephen Seager, both of Huntingdon, and Walter "Butch" Seager of Bluefield, West Virginia.
He was preceded in death by a brother, William Dale Seager, and a sister-in-law, June Seager.
Mr. Seager was of the Lutheran faith.
He graduated from Saxton-Liberty High School with the class of 1949.
He worked for a number of years for L.C. Anderson Construction; Huntingdon Water Works; The Daily News; J.C. Blair Co., and its successor, MeadWestvaco.
He retired in 1992 from Chemcut Corporation, State College.
A lifetime resident of Huntingdon County, Mr. Seager dearly loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He enjoyed going to the Juniata Valley Senior Citizens Center, fishing, playing his guitar and bowling.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Feb. 14, at the Cutright-Speck Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Willis officiating. Interment was made in Mooresville Cemetery, West Township, Petersburg, R.R.
